KRISTA SITTON SANDERS is a Texas resident, which is a good thing because she'd much rather it be 100° outside than snowing. Krista has been a wedding photographer, cast member at Walt Disney World Resort, and an IT technical writer.  Her favorite things are books, collecting different versions of Monopoly, chocolate, cuddling up for a good TV show, and her two little boys. Krista studied English at Brigham Young University and currently works for the University of North Texas and Texas Academy of Mathematics and Sciences.

Mild spoilers ahead. I really don't spoil anything specific. This is one of my all-time favorite books. I just finished reading it for the second time, this time via audiobook on Hoopla through the Denton Public Library, read by Jennifer Ikeda. Jennifer did a WONDERFUL job!! I LOVE this book. Sarah J. Maas does a fantastic job creating a very rich world, telling her story, and giving us very complex characters. It is no surprise she is putting out more books that center on different characters. Actually, that's half the reason I read this again. My mother-in-law lovingly gifted me with A Court of Silver Flames for my birthday, but I don't remember much of ACOWAR! So I'm gearing up to reading the new book, and it was so fun to read this book four years later with a new perspective now that I have taken a couple of classes on young adult literature. Controversy and Stephen Chbosky's "The Perks of Being a Wallflower"

Contains Spoilers for Stephen Chbosky's The Perks of Being a Wallflower The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky is a story told in first-person by Charlie, who writes letters to a stranger about his experiences because, “she said you listen and understand,” and he believes this stranger is a good person (Chbosky 2). Charlie is a shy, awkward freshman in high school and has already had to deal with the loss of a family member, his best friend’s suicide, sexual abuse, post traumatic stress disorder, and depression. As Charlie goes through his first year in high school, he also encounters drugs, smoking, alcohol, homophobia, underage sex, physical abuse, and abortion; all of these issues are listed by the American Library Association as common reasons for censorship.
